" Welcome Home My Dear Brother "

Welcome home my dear brother,
To the place that we call home.
Once more to be together,
No more we hope to roam.

When you were so far a-way,
We thought of you each day.
Often wish that you were here,
To hear you sing and play.

Our mother, and our father,
You made them very glad.
A brave and mighty soldier,
Such a son like you to have.

We haven't much to offer,
But the shaking of our hand.
And all our love and kindness,
To you the best we can.

Your brothers and your sisters,
You made them happy too!
So welcome home dear brother,
Is our only word to you.

I'll always love you,

I'll always love you, I will be-true.
And promise darling that you will too.
I'll be yours only, I'll show I care.
And when you need me, I will be right there.

I've been so happy, since I met you,
I hope you'll never will say were thru.
I'll always keep you, dear in my heart,
When we're together or we're far apart.

Sweet are the roses the violets too,
But I've the sweetest, flower it's you.
The sun brings warmth deer, and light to see,
But darling you bring, happiness to me.

When I'm not with you I feel alone,
Some day my darling you'll be my own.
We'll be together as years go by,
And love each other till the day we die

“ My Prayer “

verse:
"0" lord if I, have grieved you once this day,
I did not realize, forgive me I pray.
Keep me in peace, you know that I love you,
My faith increase, to trust you'll take be through.

Lord do help me, to walk in all the light,
Daily as I see, help me to do right.
Keep me humble, give me more grace each day,
Not to mumble, or sin no other way.

I remember, Jesus how thou did die,
For a poor sinner, one lord such as I.
Do fill my soul, with Holy Ghost fire,
Take full control, Lord God is my desire.

“Single man and women”

couse If you fall in love, and you plan your wedding day.
It's not just hugs and kisses and good times all thru life,
But care and sometime heart-acks when you are man and wife.

That you must consider, it's not just for a time,
As long as you are living, hard working you will fine.
But you can be happy far as long as you are wed,
If you love and trust each other, till the day you're dead.

Now marriage has a meaning, it means a val to make,
You are held responsible if ever it you break.
You marry to have children, and make your dreams come true,
So single man and women you see it's up to you.

“ Christmas Day ”

Many many years ago and many miles a-way.
A baby was born, and made this christmas day.
A gift from god the father, it was his own dear son.
That he gave unto this world, a gift for ever one

He was born of a virgin who served god without sin.
Was out in the stable no room was at the inn.
Just the animals their and Joseph he just gazed.
Mary gave thanks onto god, and in her heart gave praise.

Wise men saw the star above shinning bright in the east.
And follow till they found Jesus, there harts filled with peace.
They fell down to worship him and brought gifts of gold.
Of mere and frankincense in the bible we are told.

Angles of the lord, appeared to the shepherd on this night.
And told them about the birth of the christ, it filled them with delight.
They left all to go to him, for they wanted to see.
The savior, god promised them, to set all mankind free.

Joy and peace and gladness, were brought to all the earth.
How we ought to thank god for his dear son’s birth.
Now may god go with you, and bless you along the way.
May all of you be happy this holy christmas day.

" Satisfied -Religious "

Of the world I have tasted,

-Sing chorus -
Well I use to go out
With my friends round about,
I had no time for the Lord.
I just went-on my way,
. Kept on sinning every day,
I wanted my pleasures more. Yes I was on my way,
To hell beyond the grave,
I was blind I could not see.
And I had was pain and woe ,
As in my sins I did go,
And My life was filled with misery.
-Sing chorus -
Then one day he spoke to me,
And-I-fell. down on my knees,
And oh how on to him I cried.
I confess all my sins,
Then Christ Jesus did came in,
Now at last I am satisfied.
Through his blood I'm made free,
That is why I am happy,
I'm saved by his marvelous grace.
And I'm not afraid to die,
Cause here's the reason why,
I know, I'll see his face.
-Sing chorus -
Oh, sinner you too,
Can have this joy and peace,
If on the dear Lord you will call.
Cast your soul down at his feet,
And conditions if you meet,
He'll save you one and all. Now God bless you my friend,
Come back soon again,
And to God I pray to be true.
Keep on looking above,
To the savior whom you love,
And he'll take you safely thru.
Chorus:
-Sing chorus –

Satisfied in Jesus,
Satisfied-to-day.
Satisfied in serving him,
And I'm happy on my way.

" Santa Clause "

Now Santa Clause is coming,
To all the boys and girls.
With his sleigh and his reindeer,
And a big bag of toys.
Gifts for mom-mie, and daddies,
Will be under the tree.
He never for gets anyone,
When he comes on Christmas Eve.

Last week I wrote a letter,
And told him all the things.
That you like to have this year,
I'm sure them all he'll bring.
I told him that you've been good.
And say your prayers each day.
So go to sleep my children,
Cause Santa's on his way.

" My Testi1nony "

I once was a poor lost sinner far away from Jesus side,
My heart was filled with misery and so unsatisfied.
But there came a gospel preacher Who showed me a new way,
And now I have salvation and I'm happy night and day.

I never will forget it the day that I prayed through,
To a wonderful experience in the living and the true.
How the glory did fall down I could not help but shout!
Some people how they wondered What this was all about .

I knew that it was Jesus Who came into my heart,
For I stopped all my sinning and a new life I did start.
I left my worldly pleasures and put my friends aside ,
To always follow Jesus until the day I die.

Oh sinner come to Jesus do come to' him to-day,
While with you he is speaking do not turn him away.
He'll give peace like a river deep down into your soul,
With joy and many blessings as for him you onward go.

Oh, saint I pray to Jesus, that to him you'll be true,
For in his word he's promised that he will see you thru.
So do not be discouraged or weary in well doing,
For just a while longer to heaven you'll be going.

Oh, won't that be wonderful that home beyond the sky,
That Jesus went preparing, for the save and sanctified.
We'll praise God there for ever and they that's gone before,
We'll all meet there together to rejoice for ever more.

" Christ Is The Way "

I am happy in the Lord,
And each day I love him more.
On the cross my sins he bore,
Christ Is the way.
Oh, one day he spoke to me.
Now thank God I am set free.
For I've been to Cavalry,
Christ is the way.
I'll not forget that day,
When all my burdens rolled away.
He filled my hungry soul,
With something the, world can not know.
And when danger of it comes near,
Then he whisper, do not fear.
Jesus to me is so dear,
Christ is the way.

Sinner come to him to-day,
He will wash your sins away.
All upon the alter lay,
Christ is the way.
When the death angle draws near,
Will you then be satisfied.
Or will you fear that you must die,
Christ is the way.
If he speaking how I pray
That you will let him have his way
He will not always strive,
So to-night you better decide.
Oh, what blessing he’ll bestow
As for him you onward go.
Oh, What joy and peace you'll know,
Christ is the way.

No more sickness, no death, there,
Not sorrow tears, or care. ,
No more burdens, will we bear,
Christ is the way.
He is coming back again,
All his children he will claim.
To take them with him to reign,
Christ is the way.
And they that's gone before,
We'll all meet up there on that shore.
Our savior first to see,
What a grand home coming that will be.
No matter What others do,
Trust the Lord he'll take you thru.
He will never for sake you,
Christ is the way.

" I Dreamed Last Night -I Was Dancing With You "

I dreamed last night; I was dancing with you,
The feeling was divine.
I held you close like I use to do,
I dreamed you were still mine.
As we danced our favorite song was played,
I Whispered dear I love you.
You sighed and smile, then, softly said,
" My darling I love you too."
We talked, we kissed, and said nice things,
As we planned our wedding day.
I dreamed last night; I was dancing with you,
But then you faded away.
I dreamed last night; I was dancing with you,
The feeling was divine.
I held you close, like I use to do

" Underneath The Western Blue "

As we’re ridding along.
Oh, we're singing a song.
This is the way we do.
With ropes in our saddle.
Our guns we heard cattle.
Underneath the western blue.

Resting round the camp fire.
We're worn out, and we're tired.
Cause our days work is through.
But we're happy and free.
Out on the wide prairie.
Underneath the western blue.

In the morning we wake.
Preparations we make.
To start our day a new.
What a beautiful sight.
In the day and at night.
Underneath the western blue.

Chorus:

Oh we work and we play.
In our 12 hour day.
Sometime our meal is a stew.
There's a job to be done.
From dawn to setting sun.
Underneath the western blue.

“I’m Thinking About You -Dear Mother "

I'm thinking about you dear mother
Of your grief your kindness and your smile.
Of all your care, and your love,
Since I was just a child.
Indeed you were a good mother,
I'll cherish you always this way.
Because I love you mother,
This I can truly say.

I think of the trouble I cause you,
And I think of the heartache you bore.
Oh, how It grieves me mother,
But just to love you more.
I think of the patience that you had,
And how you work hard every day.
In bringing up your family,
To follow in God's way.

If I would write a book dear mother,
To express the thought of my heart.
Would take a lot of paper,
I wouldn't know how to start.
So except these few lines I've written,
I mean every word that I say.
Now may God bless you mother,
In a special way.

" We're Gonna -Rock, Rock, Rock' N' Roll "

You walk up to the jukebox and you drop your money in.
You wait for a moment the record starts to spin.
You wait for the beat, that rock 'n' roll sound,
Then you take you girl out, and you dance around.

Now some people like-um fast, and other like-um slow,
No matter what you like, you just go-cat-go.
You may like to sing, and others like to play,
But we like to dance all of our time a-way.

If you hear a jumping tune, and you don't know what to do,
Start moving your feet and, you follow on through.
Soon you'll be rocking and rolling like the rest,
You know its rock 'n' roll that we all love best.

Well we danced, and danced to a lot of rock 'n' roll,
We dance to the fast and we danced to the slow.
We had a lot of fun, but it's getting late,
It's time for us to go, and take home our date.

We're Goanna, Rock, Rock, Rock, Rock 'N' Roll,
We're Goanna, Rock, Rock, Rock, Rock 'N' Roll,
Repeat 3 more times.

" My Little Wife Catherine "

MY little wife Catherine, has a tender heart,
She likes her radio, She sort of kind of smart.
At times she blows her top, but soon gets over it,
I listen quietly, while in my chair I sit.

She's up each morning at six, and puts in a quite day,
But When it's T.V. time, she seems to fade a-way.
She is a good mother, and she's my everything,
I know I, would miss her, my little wife Catherine.

This song for you I sing.

Because we work together, the way it ought to be.
We have our problems to, but try to work them out,
By talking them over, that's What loves all about.

We go out now and then, we dance and listed to,
The music with our friends, to chase away the blues.

Welcome Home Boys

Welcome home boys, welcome home.
To this town where you did Rome.
To friends and girls you use to know.
To wives and children you loved so.
You’re dear old mom, and your fine dad.
Whose proud, a son like you to have.
Your brothers and your sisters too.
Who always thought the world of you.

Your duty boys, you have done.
Battles victory, you have won.
Back again, to America.
Your country boys that you all love.
Now glad again, we all can be.
That we still have, our victory.
And god we thank, yes we sure do.
For by his mercy, brought you through.

Back again to a civilian way.
To be here for good, we pray.
Free again from the service now.
Once more to be, the same old pal’s.
It’s great to be in days of peace.
And fighting from our mines to cease.
Let love and work. And be happy.
In this our land, of liberty

This war it was , a terrible thing.
It robbed poor folks,of right living.
It broke up homes and sweethearts too.
Because of the greed, you know it true.
Many of life it took away.
To keep this land we have to-day.
We salute you boys, and shake your hand.
Because of you our flag still stands.

“O” give three cheers to our love ones.
Who just came back, from the war they won.
From the terrible fight from and horrible sights.
“O” welcome home boys, welcome home.

" Children "

Children are the greatest thing,
That happened to our home.
They bring us lots of happiness,
We never feel alone.

They also bring us lots of pain,
Which in our hearts we bear.
And try to do the best we can,
To show them that we care.

Although their ways are different,
But looks will always be.
The give a-way of most children,
in ev-ery fa-mily.

This will end my little poem,
with one more thing to say.
Enjoy your kids youth while you can,
They’ll be adults some day.

" Johnny Ringo "

Johnny ringo was a man,
Who live by the gun.
The fastest man around,
But always on the run.

He traveled in the west,
He roomed fought and killed.
He had no kind of trade,
The gun his only skill.

He had no fear of men,
But always there was one.
Who had to call him out,
And to die by his gun.

He was the leader of,
A band bad out-laws.
There was a price on him,
And wanted by them all.

Then one day he road,
It was his last long ride.
He be-trade his own kind.
And by the gun he died.

Remember still to-day,
Of good and bad he done.
A legend he will stay,
Johnny Ringo, and his gun.

" My Dad "

My dad is old, his hair is white,
He sits all day, 'til late at night,
He drinks a beer now and then.
Doesn't smoke, since, I don't know when,
He doesn't go out to the bar,
Or visit friends near or far.
He coughs a lot that make him mad,
Can't see to good his eyes are bad.
With the dog he plays a lot,
And talks to her just like a tot.
He listens to the radio,
He likes country, not rock 'n' roll.
He likes to cook, but doesn't bake,
Most anything he can make.
When he lays down, the dog dose too,
They are good buddies, those two.
But now he died over a year,
And this poem, he'll never hear.

You are the best my darling,
The sweetest in the world.
No one could ever take your place,
My pretty little girl.

You are so understanding,
What ever I say or do.
You always say the right thing,
That's why dear, I love you.

I miss you so much honey,
So lonely "dear" am I.
I long so much to see you,
And have you by my side.

Honey we're not to-gether,
It's true we're far a-part.
But yet we are quite close dear,
We're in each other's heart.

I love to hold you honey,
So close, and when we kiss.
I lose my self completely,
I'm in a world of bliss.

I need and want you darling,
You're my desire of life.
In just awhile honey,
You'll be my loving wife.

I know we will be happy,
And as the years go by.
We'll love and be to-gether,
Sweetheart until we die.

" Our Children "

Our children bring us happiness,
They fill our hearts with joy.
They make our home so cheerful,
Indeed they're two fine boys.

They play quite well to-gether,
Their rough at times it's true.
Their ways are much the same though.
Most everything they do.

They love their little animals,
And all the many toys.
They run and play the whole day long,
They are two typical boys.

" Our Girl "

At last we have our little girl,
We thought we never would.
But we're grateful that for sure,
The Lord to us was good.

The 28th of Feb., she came,
It was before midnight.
When I heard it was a girl,
My heart filled with delight.

Nine pounds and seven ounce,
Quite heavy I would say.
She measure 19 inches long,
We named her Sharon Kay.

“ we‘re Coming Home Now”

We're Coming Home Now, from this world of sand.
The war is over and our Flag still stands.
We’re Coming Home Now, to the U.S.A.
From all this horror, back to our own way.

We're Coming Home Now, for fighting’s ceased.
to Amer-i-ca where we live in peace.
We’re Coming Home Now, because our job is done.
To our great country, Welcome home everyone.

We're Coming Home Now, but war has a price.
Lots of destruction and the 1oss of life.
We're Coming Home Now, Saddam has lost.
He failed his people and at a great cost.

We're Coming Home Now, IRAQ is in pain.
They never will be, ever be the same.
We're Coming Home Now, the people must blame.
Their Holy leader mad Saddam Hussein.

We're Coming Home Now, to all our loved ones.
To pick up our lives when the war begun.
SHOUT! We're coming Home Now, where there's liberty.
To our great freedom and our fam-i-lies.

We're Coming Home Now, it really feels great.
Bush kept his promise to set free Kuwait.
We’re Coming Home Now, from the battle zone.
The Kuwait’s are happy to be back home.

We’re Coming Home Now, and we thank you Lord.
For bringing us back form this terrible war.
We're Coming Home Now, the sorrow we share.
With those that lost a, love one over there.

We're Coming Home Now, and in time we'll heal.
From all our sufferings and the way we feel.
Well, I could go on, there are lots more to say.
But I'II end this poem ,God Bless the U.S.A.

"THE SANDS OF TUNISIA"

There's blood on the sands of Tunisia,
It's the blood of the brave and the true.
It’s the blood of all nations in battle,
Beneath banners of the RED,WHITE, AND BLUE.

As they marched over the sands of Tunisia
through the place where the enemy lay,
they remember the general's order,
This path must be taken today.

Some thought of their wives and their mothers,
some thought of their sweetheart so fair.
and some as they plodded and stumbled,
were softly whispering a prayer.

So forward they went into battle,
with faces unsmiling and stern.
For they knew as they charged up that hill side,
that many would never return.

Now there's blood on the sands of Tunisia,
It’s the gift of the freedom they love.
May their names rest in glory forever
and their soul, rest in heaven above.

This song, with the tune of "RED RIVER VALLEY"
was written by an unknown soldier during the
"World War II" and giving to my brother Clarence
in 1944, who gave it to me, Paul F. Rehrig.

“ Vietnam ”

Welcome home boys from vietnam .

You were just boys, but now a man.
A wars A war they’re much the same.
You suffered too and felt the pain.

You were scared ,and at times a-lone.
Fighting so far, away from home.
You had the courage, some lived some died.
You fought to get-er side by side.

Your country called you went to serve.
And you got less, then you deserved.
You did the right, it seemed insane.
But we were wrong, and you we blamed.

You did your best, but did not know.
Who was your friend, who was your foe.
Your greatest wounds ,were caused by us.
We let you down ,we lost your trust.

We the people, did not understand.
No welcome home, because you were band.
No cheers no parads,no music played.
No flags no slutes, came your way

America, now realize.
Finally, you are recognized
You have your honor, this is your day.
Welcome home to the USA.
